Fraternities and sororities have been a significant part of LMU's rich and vibrant history since 1952. Today, the Greek organizations represent the wide diversity of students who attend LMU. Collectively, fraternities and sororities are among the largest student run organizations at LMU with nearly 1,400 students in one of 15 Greek lettered organizations, almost 26% of LMU students. The fraternity and sorority community at LMU prides itself in meeting and exceeding high standards and leadership excellence.
LMU Greeks are continually involved in the academic, service, and social aspects of the campus life. Academically, the average LMU fraternity and sorority member consistently score higher than their peers in the classroom. In the area of service and philanthropy, LMU Greeks collected over $90,000 for local and national charities and provided almost 8,000 hours of service last year. Socially, the men and women of the Greek community create lifelong bonds of friendship and bring life to campus with lasting traditions such as Greek Week, Lip Sync, and their many philanthropic programs.
